Traffic shaping @ ScreenOS

Today i got mailed this one…

“ScreenOS does not implement Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ) or Random Early Drop (RED). (WFQ is a technology to enhance the feel of interactive traffic on very slow links, and RED is a simple throttling technology used in high-speed links in provider networks.) ScreenOS instead changed the window size to throttle TCP traffic.”

Source: ScreenOS Cookbook, O´Reilly

Well what can one say about this…its an alterntive but I think not that smooth than the WFQ or RED technology. Anybody tested that?
